Could there be a new Portuguese superstar at Real Madrid next season?

Over the last decade Real Madrid has benefited greatly from the excellent standard of Portuguese Football. With their talismanic forward Cristiano Ronaldo the jewel in his countries crown, Los Blancos have also enjoyed the talents of Pepe, Ricardo Carvalho, Fabio Coentrao and going further back the genius of Luis Figo.

So no one can blame them for keeping an eye on the emerging talent coming from their neighbouring country. The latest to be linked is the highly rated striker Andre Silva.

The Porto front man has long been tipped by Ronaldo to be the next big thing to come out of Portugal and he is now showing his promise was not misjudged. At just 21 years old and with 23 goals in 48 games already for his club, not to mention 4 goals in 5 games for his country, Silva could be seen as the perfect partner for Ronaldo and Gareth Bale in the Spanish clubs first XI.
