West Ham go head to head with Bayern Munich to sign young Chelsea star

West Ham will go up against a surprise European rival is their bid to sign one of Chelsea's brightest young stars.

It has long been reported that Hammer's boss Slaven Bilic is an admirer of the Blues forward Dominik Solanke but it was thought that they may have to bid against a number of Premier league rivals in the pursuit of his signature.

However it has now emerged that Bayern Munich may be a surprise destination for the 19 year old, who has impressed already at a European club after his loan spell with Vitesse last season.

With the U21 International able to leave at the end of the season when his current deal at Stamford Bridge comes to an end, his fee would be decided by a tribunal, and although a move to an English club would cost them around £8million, a move to Europe would probably come out at about £300,000 ... a significant discount which could then be used to fund his £50k a week wages, a figure West Ham may struggle with.

His final decision may be less down to money and more on who could give him the most game time and with his chances of regular playing time at Bayern very limited, Solanke may decide West Ham offers him the best move for his future career.
