Arsenal interested in re-signing midfielder
Sometimes even the greatest teams and managers make mistakes. Chelsea famously let Nemanja Matic leave, only to buy him back a couple of years later for considerably more than they sold him for originally, and Alex Ferguson probably still has nightmares about allowing Paul Pogba to join Juventus on a free and then watching his former club buy him back for a world record fee in 2016.
Oguzhan Ozyakup is probably not a name that even Arsenal fans remember too well. He joined the Gunners academy is 2008 and went on to make just 2 appearances for the North London club before transferring to Besiktas in 2012.
Since joining the Turkish club, Oguzhan has been somewhat of a revelation, establishing himself in the Turkish national team and captaining the SuperLig club.
His rise to the top of Turkish football has not gone unnoticed by his former boss Arsene Wenger who, if reports are to be believed, has sent scouts to watch his last few games with a view to re-signing the midfielder in the summer.
The jewel in Besiktas' crown, the club are unlikely to stand in the midfielder's way if he does want to re-join his former team, however the fee is likely to be considerably more the than the £425k the Turkish club paid for him with reports of upwards of £25million being quoted.
