Canaries favourites to sign Cameroon International Striker
It's safe to say this season hasn't quite gone to plan for Norwich City. One of the favourites to go up automatically at the start of the season, the Canaries have struggled and recent poor results saw them part ways with Manager Alex Neil. Their terrible form now means it would take almost a miracle for the East Anglian club, currently sitting in 9th place in the league, to now make the play-offs.
None of this though has dampened the clubs ambitions and today reports suggest that they are favourites to secure the signing of highly rated Cameroonian striker Vincent Aboubakar from Porto.
At only 25, Aboubakar has played an impressive 54 games for his country, scoring 15 goals and at club level has scored goals wherever he has played whether it be France, Portugal or Turkey's top league.
A move to the Championship would be seen as a step down for the striker, who has been on loan at Besiktas, and with Everton, Leicester and West Ham known to be admirers of the 6ft striker, on paper it seems like an unlikely deal plus with no manager at the helm, it begs the question whether this is someone the current owners want to buy or whether the incoming manager (reports say it could be Alan Pardew or Nigel Pearson) has suggested the signing.
However Norwich will still go into next season as one of the favourites to be promoted and with the club's history, and loyal fanbase, if they can sell Aboubakar on their ambition then you could see him lining up in yellow and green come August.
