Southampton duo set for England call-up

Gareth Southgate may not have been everyone's first choice as England manager, his club record never set the world on fire and for many he seemed too much of a YES man to the FA. However he may be about to at least win some of his doubters around.

One of the biggest criticisms levelled at his predecessors was their unwillingness to bring new faces into the England squad, instead sticking with experienced International's no matter what their current form was. If reports apparently coming out of the England set-up are true though it seems Southgate may be about to change that.

Southampton's duo Nathan Redmond and James Ward-Prowse have been something of a revelation this season for the south coast side with the two 22 year old's especially impressing in Southampton's EFL cup campaign, the final of which was attended by the England Manager.

Ross Barkley's recent form could also see him back in the England squad for the up coming Internationals vs Germany and Lithuania alongside Tom Heaton, who is back from injury.
