Villa linked with teenage sensation

It's a strange time to be a Villa fan. Last season was one of the (if not the) worst seasons in the club's history. Sometimes though you need to hit rock bottom before you can fix issues and in recent weeks it seems that Villa have really turned a corner.

Currently the Championship's on-form team, Steve Bruce took over a sinking ship, and although he hasn't totally fixed the hole, he's certainly steered it in the right direction. Although not totally impossible, especially considering how well they are currently playing, it is still unlikely that the club can reach the play-offs this season, so Steve Bruce now needs to start planning for automatic promotion in 2017/2018.

Goals have certainly been a huge issue, with Villa only scoring 39 all season ... only 5 clubs have scored less. Scott Hogan was brought in to solve this, but subsequently got injured almost straight away. But it looks like Bruce may have an idea how to score more next season.

Reports today suggest that Villa are in pole position to acquire the services of Tammy Abraham on loan next season. The 19 year old striker has been a revelation this season, on loan at Bristol City from parent club Chelsea,  where he has scored an incredible 22 goals in 40 games.

With Chelsea enjoying an abundance of riches up top it is thought they will look to give Abraham more first team experience in the Championship next season and Aston Villa would be the perfect club.  A huge fanbase and an experienced manager would ease Abraham into understanding what it feels like to play at the very top level ... and if he can repeat this years heroics then he could well help Villa get back to where many believe they belong.
