Bilic: Leicester now vindicated in Ranieri decision

It was the sacking that rocked football and left many purists wondering what had become of the once 'beautiful game'. Claudio Ranieri, who only 9 months before, had taken an average Premier League squad and turned them into Champions was sacked after a string of poor results.

However as the dust settles, West Ham boss Slaven Bilic believes that, if the decisions are based n results alone, then the Leicester boards decision may have just worked.

Since Ranieri's departure Leicester's league form and the performance of last years superstars, such as Vardy and Mahrez has improved dramatically and after their comeback vs Seville in the Champions League to reach the Quarter-Finals, the fans, the media and other coaches seem to have come to terms with the decision.

Bilic, whose team will play the Foxes on Saturday said ... "I said after they changed manager what I thought about it and still I don't understand it,

"Still for me it was a bad decision, Claudio did very decently with them. But it's the nature of the job, you are the first one to pay the price.

"No one can say it was the wrong decision, the three results have been brilliant and the team looks different.

"It's a different team to four weeks ago. They played extremely well especially against Sevilla. It's a great result for them and for English football.

"In all those three games they looked very lively, three wins on the spin including qualifying for the quarter-finals of the Champions League gives them a big boost."

Whether Leicester can keep this form up remains to be seen, and Bilic is sure to be the man to try and derail them this Saturday, but with a Champions League Quarter-Final to look forward to, it doesn't seem like Leicester are ready to get off this rollercoaster just yet!
